How long should a filament last? I seem to be going through them at an alarming rate! Last week both filaments opened.

How long should a filament last?

This is a difficult question, but more than one week! Things that can effect lifetime:
- leaks, bad leaks especially
- filament delay too short -
- super high concentrations of analytes
- CI liquid reagents, mainly acetonitrile is a bad boy
- frequent venting / pumpdown of the system
- excess air getting into the system when using purge and trap
- AND -- bad luck!
I have seen filaments last for years, but generally on an ion trap with normal usage I get between 500-1000 injections. With normal usage
