Agilent makes upgrading the firmware on it's equipment fairly easy. The firmware is closely matched to the version of Chemstation or Mass Hunter you are using. There have been literally hundreds of different firmware and software versions over the years. To make matters worse, the version of the software is also dependant on the PC OS as well.
Good news - the software has a utility that will help you make sure the version of firmware matches what the software expects. It can be run by opening the "configuration manager" and then going to the "Help" -> "check networking and update firmware". This is completely automated and will prompt you through the process.
